HER Detroit Magazine Launch Party

Hey Everyone!
I had the oppurtunity to attend the HER Detroit Magazine Launch Party last night. While networking on the f.a.s.h. DET like page, I came across HER Detroit, HER Detroit is a  "great new magazine for Detroit women. HER is a source for fashion, beauty, health, relationship, and other advice!" source
The launch was a very nice event. It was held at an upscale restaurant slash lounge, there was great food, a live band and dj as well as a great overall atmosphere the entire venue was dedicated to HER Detroit for the evening.

The editor in chief of the magazine Natashua Sanders was very gracious. She honored everyone that played a major role in the magazines launch, they were great giveaways, and it was a really great launch.

It was pretty amazing to hear that most of individuals who assisted with the magazine were people that the creator had met through social networking! Hearing that definitely made me realize the importance of "branding" and also networking as a whole. I'm definitely proud to see that so many people are genuinely interested in participating in something positive. It gives me hope and furthers my determination to take my blog to higher heights! So thanks HER Detroit!

On to what I wore.

If you follow me on twitter than you know I tweeted I needed some black high waisted trousers so my VBFF (Virtual Best Friend), Schevashea from Curves and Confidence tweeted me a picture of these awesome pants she found from JCPenny I believe in either a sales paper or mag. We checked the site and they weren't listed yet. So she stalked the site and one day tweeted that they'd arrived and were on sale for a whooping $16.99!!!!! I couldn't miss out. I went to the site immediately to see if they were available in my local store but they were not. I wanted to try them on. But it wouldn't be possible. So I went ahead and bought them anyway. I didn't want to miss out on that great price. I love the pant, they are true to size but I'm very hippy so I probably would have went up a size if I had gotten to try them on. But overall love them, very nice quality! I got them in black too and I can't wait to wear them!

I thrifted this awesome blouse and clutch, love them both. I kept the outfit pretty simple, by keeping my accessories minimal. My tan slingbacks pulled the outfit together nicely. I felt really cute in this outfit I'll admit. :)
