Bible Verse of the Day: Jeremiah 29:11 #CellPhonesOrBibles

Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) says: For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Prayer
Dear Lord,
We thank you for the many promises you have made to us in Your word. Help us to remember that you are always in control and that you have a prosperous and safe plan over our lives. Remind us that through any of life's challenges we can depend on you for hope and peace.

In Jesus name I pray.
Amen

Cellphones Or Bibles and Mornings With God #CellPhonesOrBibles #FaithChic360

In this day and age we use our cell phones for everything, we wake with them as alarm clocks, we monitor the weather with them, check our emails and calendars with them, and this is all before we even step out of bed in the morning.

How glorifying to God would it be if the first thing we reached for in the morning was our Bibles and not our cellphones! Spending mornings with God is a great way to start your day. I want to encourage you to consider just how programmed and connected you may be with your device.

Think about it, they're primarily used for shopping,  mobile banking, payment transactions and transferring money with Apple Pay, CashApp and the like. Not to mention as note keepers, to store passwords, as photo albums of our most sensitive memories and pictures, and to connect with friends and family through social media on them countless times a day. Then there's even more personal and sensitive information like medical records or court records that are accessible using our phones. Just how secure are these websites and apps that we depend on?

God forbid if all of these apps were ever hacked at one time! Or if AI gets a hold of your data, what would your phones data reveal about you? How could that information be used against you? Wow, it's scary to even ponder just how vulnerable these devices have made us over time.

Have you ever considered the dangers of having your cell phone hacked, monitored or even illegally searched and monitored by the police? How violated would you feel? How much privacy are you really giving up when you agree the terms of the apps downloaded from the Google Play and Apple Stores? Losing our phones these days is in more ways even worse than losing your wallet.

Since 2020, I have made a conscious effort to try to be less consumed with my phone and social media in order to protect my privacy, and I encourage you to do the same.

That leads me to why I'm posting this, I wanted to start a new segment on my blog #CellPhonesOrBibles: Mornings with God, where each day I'll share scripture and a pray with you, similar to Faith Chic 360 that I started back on Instagram in 2017.

Let's grow closer to God together and make a conscious effort to utilize the most powerful app on our phones: The Holy Bible.

I'm using the Bible App by YouVersion.com. Download it now for your mobile device.

In With the Old, In With the New

In with the old
In with the new
No that's not a typo
I meant to throw you

You see I've been rekindling
All things meaningful
Caring more about who cares
And less about
Who cared less

You see living in the present
Is all that matters to me
Because the past and the future
I no longer see
'Cause my eyes are now set
On being free

Now and forever, daily
I will treasure and bask in the now
I will cherish each second spent
And honor the love reciprocated
I will not take for granted
What's being planted and sown

I will bear witness
I will share freely
I will love graciously
I          WILL       LIVE
In the newness of today
EACH and every day

No longer looking back and forward
For what was and will be
But eternally focused on
What is and who is special to me

Thank you Father for grace
Thank you Father for each new day
Thank you Father for mercy
Thank you Father for love, light and life in the new

I Am

I am a conqueror!
I am an over comer!
I am forgiven!
I am a winner!

I've been a victim of my own negative thoughts, fears and paranoia. I let the way I felt and my perception of the world dictate the thoughts and words I chose to speak over my life. I could and would easily replace those affirmations with things like:

I am weak.
I am a victim.
God won't forgive me.
I am a loser.

But you know, I refuse! I refuse to be a slave to negative feelings and emotions. I refuse to live and think with a victim mentality. I will no longer with my thoughts and words, bash and stigmatize my life. I have made a vow to myself and it's SPEAK LIFE and equally so THINK LIFE.

Proverbs 18:21 tells us: Death and life are in the power of the tongue; and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
What we think, speak and the way we live will bear fruit in our lives that we will one day eat. So be careful what you plant. If all that's planted is negativity, painful memories, and questionable actions, that is what we will certainly choke on.

I urge you to make a conscious choice to speak and think life. I actually think it's crucial that we start with our thoughts. Before we even give breath to our words, we ponder and harbor our thoughts. Let's try to stop them, correct and replace them with psalms, affirmations and positive thoughts. Before you know it your words will follow. Then, the fruit you eat will be sweet and pleasant to your taste.

Think, speak and live life and you will certainly have it in abundance.

Dear Lord,
When negative thoughts creep into my mind, please replace those thoughts and my words, with your word for my life. Show me who I am in you. Give me the power to think, speak, and live life in abundance as you intended.
In Jesus name I pray,
Amen.

New posts on Sundays and Wednesdays.
Thanks so much for reading!

Armour of God: Put on Love

I knew that before I arrived that God would really speak to my spirit at the conference. I was prepared to be fed and I was. The message was about L O V E. Something I’ve been having a hard time with lately. Not that I have a hard time loving but I have a hard time understanding the actions of those that say they love me. I've also had a hard time dealing with the way I handled certain individuals that have hurt me. The last six months of my life have been …well let’s just say an experience… so I was really anxious to hear what Joyce would cover. Put on Love Colossians 3:14 And above all these [put on] love style enfold yourselves with the bond of perfectness [which binds everything together completely in ideal harmony]  [amplified version]
Joyce started the message with this scripture and she encouraged us to put on the spirit of love and walk in it. We have to first remember that we must love ourselves first, and that it’s ok to do so! So often we are so consumed with our relationships or others that we forget to add ourselves into the equation. It was quickly noted that most of us don’t truly know how to love. We simply say we love someone with our mouths but our actions would definitely speak otherwise We must learn how to love others and show that love for one another through how we treat each other. Remember that love is a free gift and we have to stop charging others for our love, with everything we do, those things should be done to honor God and not for thanks. We must let God be God and when we are mistreated or wronged we should always pray for them and trust God to handle things. So many times when someone hurts us, we want to try to do whatever we can to cause as much pain as that person has caused us. Try not to become so consumed with the way others treat you that you forget to overcome those wrongs with good Humbling ourselves and forgiving others is the key to releasing the fruit of spirit and no that does not mean allowing someone to mistreat you consistently or walk all over you. It means that you are not harboring those negative feelings in your spirit. Forgiveness is for you. Romans 12:21 Do not let yourself be overcome by evil, but overcome (master) evil with good. [amplified version]
